Mission Updates

Hello All,

Just a note to say that everyone arrive safely in Nicarauga.  The effects of the tropical storm are evident but the weather is good.

Our accomodations with Amigos are simple but very comfortable.  There are lots of fans which helps.

The group is starting to come together and gel.  We had some great get to know each other activities last night and today Sunday morning we prepare to head to Mass at the local Catholic Church.

Today we do not work on Sunday but head out to hike a Volcano Park which is alot of fun.

All are doing well.

Hello all,

The mission trip continues to go well and everyone is doing great.  It seems that the 2 parishes and the Mercy High group are all getting along very well and mingling together.

Monday we did lots of hard work at the Amigos Farm and to move supplies to of rock and sand.  Even I, Father Mike did hard labor !!!!!!!!!

Today Tuesday,  we head out to work in the village built by amigos.  it is a village that has over 100 homes, a library, and facilites built by amigos community .  All the families in this village lived in a dump before they came to this new location.

The weather is very nice. My cell phone does not work any more.

I will send a longer e mail tomorrow with some specific stories.
